Make Sure your Head is on Straight

Make sure your head is on straight... before jumping into AP Biology that is.
Was my head on straight before I jumped in to AP Bio? Take a guess. You have a 50% chance of getting it right! If you guessed no, you were right! However, as time goes on I am starting to find out exactly how I am going to handle this particular class.
I am not going to lie to you and tell you that the first week of AP Bio was a piece of cake, because it wasn't. It is not that we had a lot of homework for the class just that I, yes the self-proclaimed AP Bio Student, was not prepared for for this class in general. I have never taken into consideration how important it is for everyone to have their own unique individual style of doing things. I've found that for myself specifically, I need to write things down multiple times for a topic to fully ingrain into my head. On the same hand though I have learned that for science classes specifically, I really need to pay attention to what the teacher is saying in class while they are explaining topics rather that writing all of the notes down.
So how am I supposed to balance wanting to write everything down, and yet pay attention to the teacher so that I can actually understand what I am writing down?
My solution: I started to print the notes that we take in class the day before. This way when we are taking notes in class I can focus on what the teacher is saying, and understand the information, with out worrying about missing something because I am trying to write everything down.
Now that I have found a way of taking notes that works for me, I can finally focus on AP Biology as a class! I would have to say the unit that I am most looking forward to is plant and animal structure and function. I am really interested in psychology, and while in the plant and animal unit we will be looking at the nervous system which has alot to do with the brain. On the other hand, the unit I am least looking forward to is cells. I have always had trouble remembering all of the components inside of each cell, and their different functions. Altogether though, I feel that I will truly enjoy this class, and I am looking forward to the rest of the semester!
For now
Yours truly,
The AP Bio Student
